As the population ages, counselors and therapists are increasingly becoming involved in the assessment and management of individuals with Neurocognitive Disorders. This category of mental disorders from the DSM involves two principle diagnoses: Delirium and Dementia. This workshop will explore the thirteen different diagnoses with emphasis upon four of the most common: Delirium proper and Neurocognitive disorders of the Alzheimer’s, Lewy Bodies, and Frontotemporal types.  Additionally, family management and intervention strategies will be outlined for the referral and management of these very challenging cases.
