Trauma-informed care involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of trauma. This presentation provides an overview of trauma and its multi-level effects on one’s development, interpersonal relationships, family systems, and societies. Risk and protective factors will be explored from varying perspectives. Additionally, a brief overview of the advances of trauma-informed care will be provided to better understand trauma prevention and intervention in today’s times.
