Course Description

Pushing the Limits of Human Nature: Jung, Confucius and Jesus

In this class, we’ll look at how three important moral-ethical and social revolutionaries strove to move the needle on our inherited primate behavioral characteristics in the direction of humaneness: Carl Jung, who advocated wholeness (the integration of the light and shadow within us); Confucius, who pushed for a deeply respectful civility; and Jesus, who preached and lived a radical life-changing love for all, including ourselves. Please join long-time Emeritus teacher Doug Gillette, M.A.R.S., M-Div. for an exciting vision of who we actually could be—as individuals and as societies!
