Course Description

We often hear about growing inequality in America, but what does that really mean? If complete equality is unachievable, and perhaps undesirable, how much and what kind of inequality is tolerable, and perhaps beneficial? Led by Joseph S. Harrington, M.A., this course will analyze seven dimensions of inequality—income, wealth, educational, occupational, generational, racial, gender and regional—to identify current trends and what, if anything, should be done to change them.
