Course Description

The Western has long been a staple of American films. The characters, themes and landscape (as both a physical setting and mythological place) attract audiences and film makers alike. Join Francine J. Sanders, M.A., for a look at classics, along with neo-Westerns that explore the genre from a more contemporary lens. Under consideration: My Darling Clementine, Rio Bravo, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Once Upon a Time in the West, Unforgiven, Lone Star, Nomadland, and The Power of the Dog.
