Course Description

Richard Reeder will lead his students through an exploration of the great Irish author James Joyce’s collection of short stories, “The Dubliners,” as well as his novel of self-discovery, “A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.” They are both literary classics in their own right, written and published before “Ulysses.” Many of the characters and themes encountered later on in “Ulysses” surface in both of these works.
