Course Description

Could You, Would You, and Should You Be Your Loved One's Caregiver? America’s aging population is rapidly outpacing the number of qualified caregivers, resulting in families who are increasingly burdened with direct care. This course helps you to 1) gain insight into the range of care needs, challenges, and transitions; 2) understand legal and financial parameters and support resources; and 3) assess your personal strengths, limitations, and readiness as a potential caregiver. Participants also learn from each other in a setting aimed at relevance, cultural sensitivity, and appreciation for the complexities of family relationships and the caregiving experience. This course will be taught by Daniel Reid, MPH, MSW and facilitated by Steven Gan, CPA, CNA.
